Public health and clinical trial consultation for tuberculosis (TB) and respiratory diseases
Neuma takes ideas from the frontiers of respiratory disease research and translates them into real world applications.
From concept to clinic, we support projects through fundraising, proposal writing, scientific research, data analysis, public policy research, marketing, and advocacy.
If you have a promising TB-related project and would like help, please contact us.
Comprised of passionate specialists in TB, Neuma will promote the best projects to national health programmes and world health policy-makers.
Projects include:
The TB Breathalyser
In 2022, Neuma Research combined efforts with a British startup to accelerate the production of a critically needed point-of-care diagnostic device for TB. Through fundraising and business development efforts, a deal was promoted in 2024 to ensure the production of a device with a globally recognised pharmaceutical company.
01
PROCEDR-TB
In response to a call from UNITAID, Neuma helped to create a proposal for the multimillion dollar programme PRrecision use Of Cutting Edge medicines for DR-TB (PROCEDR-TB), focused on scaling up the responsible use of the new generation of BPALM drugs for TB across the world.

03
tb.care
Addressing a critical gap in TB care, the tb.care project aims to provide information and support for TB patients around the world in plain language, with six fully translated and localised versions.
Patient safety research
From 2020 to 2023, Neuma conducted research into the relatively untapped field of paradoxical reactions (PR) in TB patients without HIV, resulting in a published paper in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases.
04
Bottlenecks for endTB
To identify key areas for effort to meet the 2035 endTB goals, Neuma helped to produce a published article detailing current bottlenecks for TB efforts globally and their knock-on effects, with several suggestions for interventions for governments, private companies, and NGOs.
05
Charity consultation
As part of Charity Entrepreneurship’s investigation into TB as a potential cause area to found new non-profit organisations, Neuma offered consultation on the cost-effectiveness of active case-finding and preventive therapies in households with children.
06
Future forecasting
In 2022, Neuma provided articles for the forecasting website Metaculus, predicting the viability of TB vaccines and giving an overview of the history of malaria technologies.
